Who is the Holy Spirit?- part 1

Have you every asked yourself this question, what is Time? ( i did not mean, what time is it, I meant, what is the definition of time??) I have. I am a naturally curious person. I ask lots of question, and I have learned to lean of the mighty counselor inside of me- The Holy Spirit. Please don’t misunderstand me, I do ask question to friends, family, colleagues. But I have learned with each passing day, that the best person to ask is the Holy Spirit. He knows all. Jesus said “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26). This verse said a couple of things:

• The Holy Spirit is a “HE”, a person, not an “it”, as many erroneously refer to Him.
• The Father sent Him in the Name of Jesus ( In this verse we see the Trinity: Father, son and Holy Spirit).
• Jesus said “He will teach you all things”. This implies He knows all things, and not only that has the ability to teach you and will.
  • The Holy Spirit can teach you all things, because He knows all things- Yes, all things- Chemistry, Business, Government, Android phone, Iphone, marketing, consulting, Engineering, Human body, anatomy, astronomy, astrophysics, universe, spiritual, mathematics, cars, geology, aerodynamics, plants, animals, paint, bones, investigation… etc, ANYTHING!
  • Learn to ask Him!
• Finally, bring to your remembrance all things.

So, it seems very wise to go to him as my counselor/ confidant. So I posed this question to the Holy Spirit about time. One of the answer I got is : time is the currency of life. You may research this on google, you will find all kinds of answer- from scientists, philosophers etc. Many of them even define time using time. I am not referring to those.

Lets use this definition I got from the Holy Spirit,” Time is the currency of life”,this implies that time is the most precious commodity you have. If you visit the graveyard, most tombstone have inscriptions like this ” Name, time Spent (usually looks like this Jan 4, 1941- March 5, 200). this shows birth date and date of passing. The dash between those days is the currency of time that person expended.

So what are you spending your time on? God created you for a purpose. We are not here merely to grow up, go to school, find a job, start a family and do a few things, then die. We should do those things, but there is a higher purpose and calling on each of our lives!. Your job, once you get saved is to find out what this plan is and follow it.  Who better to ask than the the Holy Spirit! You cannot ask google, your family, your friends- they can give your some advise, sometimes very good, But the perfect answer will come from your maker, the HOLY SPIRIT.

Jesus said “however, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on his own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” (John 16:13).  This verse shows us a couple more things about the Holy Spirit:

• The Holy Spirit is a “HE”, as we showed earlier.
• The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. He will only guide you into truth, via the word of God.
• He speaks what He hears from the Father- and shares it with you!
• He will even show you things to come!

You want to find out any truth… go to the Holy Spirit. Notice that He will even show you things that has not happened yet. this answers question in the heart of many- what does my tomorrow look like? well, the Holy Spirit knows, He made the plan ( the Father, Son and the Spirit).

Without the help of the Holy Spirit, you will go through life doing trail and error. make him your confidant today and He will guide you into all truth ( in the word of God, about your life… about anything really). Have you reached out to Him today?
