Why Healing is for us today?

Many do not believe that Jesus heals today? they base this (not on what the Bible say or Gods word), but what they read, heard from a preacher – after-all He/ she was a preacher?. they also base this on their denomination. The strongest evidence however is they base it on personal experience or that of a relative, loved one or friend. How do you argue with that, you might say. Let me ask you this simple question – You and I know many friends, colleages, (maybe even relatives, family) who are not saved- come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. These are your circle of influence.

Do you ever wake up one day and say to yourself  “well, I don’t know about this salvation business, I am not sure its for us today, after-all, my friend, my mum or dad, my son, my cousin…etc, they don’t believe it”. This has never happened to you, and if it does, you just stand your ground in faith. Our faith in anything the word of God promised is not, should not, must not be based on your experience, that of others, it must always be based on the word of God. that is FINAL AUTHORITY!

1 Corithians 2: 5 said it this way ” That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” No matter how strong you think you are, if the anchor of your faith- be it salvation, healing or any redemptive promises of God is based in the wisdom of men, experience of men or that of yours, it will never last. Satan will make sure of it. Your faith MUST be based on “it is written”, come hell or high water!

The same holds true for every one of Gods promises to you..in this case his promise of Health and Healing. The truth is: you healing has already been accomplished in Jesus Christ. Lets review. In Mat 8:17, it is recorded ” that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.” Note that this passage is written in the past tense. Jesus has accomplished all that needs to be done for your healing. All you need to do is receive!

First peter 2 :24 also corroborate this truth. ” Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”. Notice the latter part of the verse, “ye were healed”. This is the truth.
